Uniting Forces for Compassion: Milaap, Inali, and Saahas Empower Disabled Dogs

On International Dog Day, a heartwarming event orchestrated by Milaap, a prominent crowdfunding platform in India, took center stage to brighten the lives of the city’s rescued and injured canines. Collaborating with the Inali Foundation’s PAWS division, dedicated to enhancing lives through prosthetic limbs, and the Saahas For Animals Foundation, a driving force in animal rescue, this unique initiative distributed specially designed wheelchairs to handicapped and paralyzed dogs.

The event held a twofold purpose: to spotlight the cause of adopting injured dogs and to nurture compassion and empathy for stray animals. Through the provision of custom wheelchairs, Milaap aimed not only to empower these resilient dogs but also to ignite a deeper sense of kindness and care for differently-abled animals in society.

Anoj Viswanathan, President and Co-Founder of Milaap, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We’re thrilled to lead this remarkable endeavor that promises a fresh start for injured dogs. Beyond just distributing wheelchairs, our intention is to touch the hearts of everyone involved and foster greater compassion for stray and differently-abled animals within our society.”

Prashant Gade, founder of Inali Foundation, a non-profit entity dedicated to providing cost-effective prosthetic limbs, shared his excitement, “I am delighted to talk about this event, as it will not only assist animals with missing limbs but also raise awareness within the community about the importance of caring for this section of our society. Animals require proper attention and care, and that’s the mission of Inali and PAWS. I believe this earth is meant for all, not just humans. Let’s make it a joyous place for every living being. Let’s give these adorable and affectionate creatures a chance by giving them these wheels.”

Many of the dogs that benefited from this initiative had faced abandonment after unfortunate accidents, while others were once street dogs that suffered tragic road mishaps resulting in disabilities. Fortunately, these animals found solace and care through compassionate animal rescuers. The wheelchairs, meticulously tailored to meet each dog’s unique needs, ensure optimal comfort and mobility.

Geetanjali Taur, Founder of Saahas For Animals Foundation, expressed her delight, “I feel extremely elated to see different organizations coming together for this cause. There are far too many paralyzed dogs, and sometimes they feel left out when other dogs are frolicking around. But wheels can bring hope and joy into their lives. On International Dog Day, my message would be: Dogs deserve to live comfortably, just like we humans do, and we should continually strive for a future where the health of all animals is cared for.”

In addition to receiving wheelchairs, the enthusiastic four-legged companions were outfitted with reflective dog collars and other goodies to enhance their safety and well-being.

This collaboration serves as a heartwarming reminder of the positive impact that collective efforts can have in creating a brighter future for animals in need.
