A tragic accident occurred on Pune-Nagar Road in India when two buses collided head-on in the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane, resulting in injuries to 29 people, including the bus driver. The collision occurred on the dedicated BRT route, causing minor injuries to both passengers and drivers involved in the unfortunate incident.
The incident took place as two buses were approaching each other on the BRT route. One bus was heading from Talegaon Dhamdhere to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), while the other bus was bound for Wagholi. Regrettably, the bus going to Wagholi collided with a CNG bus that was traveling at a high speed, leading to the accident.
The impact of the collision left 29 individuals injured, including eight women and 17 passengers. Both drivers and conductors of both buses were also among those who sustained injuries in the mishap.
The injured victims suffered various injuries to their hands, faces, and legs. As soon as news of the accident reached the authorities, the Pune Police promptly responded to the scene. Ambulances and other available vehicles were immediately deployed to transport the injured to Sassoon Hospital for necessary medical attention. Thankfully, no severe injuries were reported, and all injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Sassoon Hospital.
