Pune, 19th January 2024: In a deeply unfortunate incident, an elderly woman lost her life after being struck by a Shivshahi bus at Jedhe Chowk, Swargate, Pune.
The Swargate police swiftly responded to the scene, registering a case against the bus driver, identified as Karan Prakash Bahadur (32) from Ambegaon Pathar.
The victim, 75-year-old Kasturibai Ratanlal Rathod, was attempting to cross the road at Jedhe Chowk when the tragic collision occurred. Rathod’s granddaughter, Sonali Ravindra Pujari (33) of Upper Indiranagar, Bibvewadi, lodged a formal complaint at the Swargate Police Station.
The accident unfolded as Kasturibai, having left the square, was in the process of crossing the road. It was at this moment that she was struck by the Shivshahi bus. Sustaining severe injuries in the collision, she tragically succumbed to her wounds before receiving medical attention.
