Tragedy Strikes in Pune as Construction Labourer Loses Life in On-Site Accident, Contractor Faces Legal Action

Pune — A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Manjri, Pune, as a 29-year-old construction labourer lost his life when an iron bar from an under-construction building tragically fell on him. The local police have swiftly taken action by booking the contractors responsible for this unfortunate accident. Their negligence in providing adequate safety measures for the workers during construction work has come under scrutiny.

The victim, identified as Vitthal Gadade (29), was employed as a construction worker at a housing project site in Manjri. He was diligently working on the fourth floor of the building when tragedy struck. Without warning, an iron bar came crashing down on him, causing severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. However, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Gadade could not be saved, and he was declared deceased.

In the wake of this devastating incident, the wife of the deceased construction worker approached the local authorities to file a formal complaint. A preliminary investigation into the matter unearthed a shocking revelation – the workers at the construction site had not been provided with proper safety gear.

In light of these findings, the Pune police have taken legal action against the contractor held responsible for the safety lapses. The accused has been identified as Ashok Kisan Shinde, aged 55, and he now faces charges under the relevant sections of the law. As the investigation continues, authorities will delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
