Baner, 10th August 2023: Ongoing construction work related to the Pune Metro project has necessitated temporary changes in traffic routes along Baner Road. A significant phase of this construction involves the launching of portal beams, which is scheduled to occur between the Green Park Hotel Junction on Baner Road and Pallod Farm Road.
In light of this crucial construction activity, ensuring smooth traffic flow along Baner Road is of paramount importance.
Vijay Kumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch), has announced the implementation of traffic diversions between Pune University and Baner Road on specific dates: from 00.01 hours on August 12, 2023, to 24.00 hours on August 15, 2023.
The traffic adjustments are as follows: The traffic flow from Hotel Greenpark Junction to Mahabaleshwar Hotel on Baner Road will be temporarily halted.
For the convenience of commuters, alternative routes have been designated: a. Motorists traveling from Pune University Chowk to Abhimanshree Junction, en route to Baner, are advised to make a right turn at Baner Phata Chowk. They should then proceed towards ITI and continue through Parihar Chowk. Upon reaching Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk, a left turn should be taken. Following Nagras Road will lead to Baner Road near Mahabaleshwar Hotel.
b. For those departing from Green Park Hotel Chowk, a left turn should be taken through Someshwar Mandir. After crossing the bridge over Ramnadi, a right turn is required, followed by passing the passport office. This route will eventually lead to Baner Road.
These temporary traffic diversions have been put in place to ensure the safety and convenience of commuters while the Pune Metro project advances towards completion. Motorists are urged to follow the designated alternate routes and cooperate with the authorities during this phase of construction.
