Pune, August 23, 2023: Koregaon Park, a prominent area in Pune, has witnessed a concerning increase in incidents of looting, as two separate cases of robbery occurred within a span of two days. In these incidents, bike-borne individuals targeted pedestrians and a woman, making away with cash and gold. Authorities are actively investigating these incidents to ensure the safety of residents and visitors to the area.
The first incident occurred on August 20, around 10:30 pm, near the Lensecourt Bus Stop in Koregaon Park. In this case, a woman was targeted by bikers who snatched an antique necklace with an estimated value of Rs 70,000. The victim promptly reported the incident to the police, seeking their intervention.
Just a day later, on August 21, a 31-year-old hotel worker faced a harrowing ordeal while returning home after finishing his shift. The victim was accosted by an assailant who brandished a sharp weapon, threatening the hotel worker. The robber managed to flee with the victim’s mobile phone and Rs 11,000 in cash. The victim promptly reported the incident to the Koregaon Park Police Station, initiating a formal investigation into the matter.
