Pune, August 22, 2023: In a fortunate turn of events, a Shivshahi bus operated by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) was involved in an accident on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway today. The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 pm near the Adoshi Tunnel on the expressway, as confirmed by officials.
The Shivshahi bus, bearing the registration MH-09 FL 1013 and serving the Central Mumbai, Mumbai division, was en route between Mumbai and Satara when the accident occurred. The bus was carrying a total of 27 passengers at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the passengers despite the impact of the accident.
The prompt response of the authorities and rescue teams played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the passengers and clearing the scene of the accident swiftly. Police officials from the Khopoli Police Station were dispatched to the location to manage the situation and coordinate the necessary actions.
Although the accident did not result in any injuries to the passengers, it did lead to a temporary traffic congestion on the expressway. However, the combined efforts of the rescue teams and the police led to the efficient clearance of the traffic jam, allowing the flow of vehicles to resume as usual.
