PMC Unveils Ambitious Plan to Revamp Roads in Dhayari and Narhe Areas

In a bid to address the longstanding issue of poorly developed roads in the Dhayari and Narhe areas, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has laid out plans to revamp three major thoroughfares, with construction anticipated to be completed by July 30. The announcement was made by Additional Municipal Commissioner Vikas Dhakane, who highlighted the dire state of the current road infrastructure in these merged villages, marked by narrow passages, potholes, and loose gravel, leading to frequent traffic woes and accidents.

The first road slated for redevelopment is the Dhayareshwar Mandir to Ram Mandir road, currently measuring 8 meters in width. The revamped road will expand to 15 meters over its 700-meter length, aiming to significantly improve traffic flow and safety. The second identified road runs parallel to Sinhagad road, stretching from Crossover County to Savitri Garden. Set to be transformed into a 30-meter Development Plan (DP) road spanning approximately 1,200 meters, this project will also involve the construction of a bridge over the main canal and the baby canal.

The third crucial road earmarked for redevelopment is the route from Bhumkar Chowk, Narhe, to the PARI company. Serving as a vital traffic artery connecting Dhayari to Narhe and Ambegaon, the current 1-kilometer road is 8 meters wide and has been concretized but is in a dilapidated state. The PMC plans to widen it to 18 meters, ensuring a smoother and safer passage for commuters.
