NCP Chief Responds to DyCM’s Modi vs Rahul Narrative, Stresses on Voters’ Collective Power for National Impact

In the midst of escalating rhetoric surrounding the Baramati Lok Sabha contest, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar issued a poignant response to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s framing of the battle as a showdown between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Pawar underscored the significance of addressing local concerns and leveraging the collective power of voters to influence national agendas.

Addressing the remarks made by Fadnavis during his recent visit to Indapur, where he characterized the election in Baramati as a choice between Modi and Rahul, Pawar emphasized the primacy of local issues in shaping the electoral discourse. He questioned the relevance of national leaders seeking votes in Baramati, highlighting the need for a focus on grassroots concerns that resonate with the electorate.

Pawar remarked, “Is Rahul Gandhi coming here to seek votes? Is Modi coming here? This shift in narrative is unprecedented. Instead of addressing Maharashtra-centric issues, the discourse is being framed around Modi or Gandhi. For me, this election is about addressing local issues and harnessing the collective power of voters to drive positive change at the national level.”

The NCP chief reaffirmed his commitment to addressing local challenges and ensuring that the voices of Baramati constituents are heard and acted upon effectively. He emphasized his track record in national politics while pledging to prioritize the resolution of pending local issues in Baramati.

Meanwhile, in response to Pawar’s remarks, Devendra Fadnavis reiterated his earlier statement, emphasizing that a vote for Supriya Sule equates to support for Rahul Gandhi, while a vote for Sunetra Pawar aligns with backing Narendra Modi. Fadnavis maintained that his stance remains consistent, regardless of any misinterpretations.

In a veiled reference to his nephew Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar alluded to recent complaints from locals regarding pending work, affirming his commitment to addressing these concerns and fostering development in Baramati.
