Safety Concerns Arise as PMC Employee Faces Electrocution While Preparing for Ganesh Festival

In a tragic incident that unfolded earlier today in Karvenagar, Pune, an employee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) sustained severe burn injuries after being electrocuted while conducting an inspection of immersion tanks ahead of the Ganesh festival. According to authorities, the victim suffered burns on both of his legs and has been promptly admitted to a hospital for necessary medical treatment.

The distressing occurrence transpired near Happy Colony in the Karvenagar area during the early hours of the day. An official from the state electricity department provided insights into the incident, stating, “This incident occurred this morning. An accident has taken place on Kothrud to NCL 132 KV high-voltage power transmission lines of the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company. The Electricity Inspector Department of the state government has been informed about the incident. According to them, the Electricity Inspectors have visited the incident site for inspection. The details of how this electrical accident occurred will be revealed in their report.”
