Rutuja credits her remarkable success to the unwavering support of her family and the guidance of her coaches.

Rutuja Bhosle’s childhood dream was always to pursue a career in tennis. However, life took her on an unexpected path, leading her to the United States for her education. While in the U.S., her passion for tennis was reignited, prompting her to return to India to chase her dreams once more.

This decision was not without its challenges, but Rutuja’s relentless determination, proper mentorship, and sheer hard work paid off. She overcame the odds and achieved her dream, winning the gold medal for her country. Grateful for the support that made her journey possible, Rutuja is now gearing up for the upcoming Olympics with a renewed focus.

At an event organized by the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh, Rutuja Bhosle credited her success to the guidance she received from her coaches and the unwavering support of her family, including her father Sambhaji Bhosle, mother Neeta Bhosle, and her husband, Ranji-level cricketer Swapnil Gugle.

One of the defining moments in Rutuja’s career was her mixed doubles match where she partnered with Rohan Bopanna. Despite initial setbacks, Rohan’s encouragement and guidance propelled them to victory, proudly raising the national anthem and tricolor on foreign soil. The emotional significance of that moment is something Rutuja cherishes.

Despite facing physical challenges, such as playing three matches on the first day of the Asian Games, Rutuja’s indomitable spirit earned her a bronze medal. Looking ahead, she is setting her sights on the upcoming Olympics, preparing rigorously, controlling her diet using the latest sports science techniques, and practicing daily.

When asked about the strained relations between India and China and whether it affected the players during her time in China, Rutuja explained that, overall, the tensions did not significantly impact the players. She noted that the organizers in China were dedicated to the well-being of Indian players, providing them with the necessary support and care.
