RPF’s Operation Nanhe Farishte Rescues 1,064 Children, Reunites Them with Families

Railway Protection Force Central Railway’s Tireless Efforts Lead to Heartwarming Reunions

In a commendable display of dedication and compassion, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) under “Operation Nanhe Farishte” has successfully rescued 1,064 children across the Central Railway network since April 2023. Collaborating closely with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Childline, RPF personnel have been instrumental in reuniting these children with their families.

The initiative, which operates round the clock, aims to safeguard vulnerable children found on railway station platforms. Whenever RPF staff or railway personnel encounter children in distress or in suspicious circumstances, immediate action is taken to ensure their safety. Through diligent inquiry and coordination efforts, lost or missing children are swiftly identified and reunited with their families.

Rampal Barpagga, spokesperson for the Pune railway division, emphasized the ongoing nature of this operation, highlighting its year-round execution and the commitment of railway employees to the well-being of children. The heartening reunions facilitated by Operation Nanhe Farishte have garnered immense appreciation and gratitude from parents, underscoring the invaluable service provided by the Railways in safeguarding vulnerable children.
