PUNE: The Lok Sabha elections are slated to be held after a few months. Against this background, all political parties are making preparations for the election. On one hand INDIA front and NDA are conducting meetings and on the other hand, regional parties are also busy preparing for the poll.
MNS President Raj Thackeray is going to hold an important party meeting on October 2 to discuss the LS poll preparations. Discussions about 20 LS constituencies are going to be held. Raj Thackeray had appointed 20 observers for 20 constituencies. The observers are going to present their reports on October 2. Raj Thackeray will examine the reports and will take further action.
MNS leader and Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray was the observer for Pune LS constituency and he is going to submit his report in the meeting. Recently, Amit Thackeray had conducted a meeting of office-bearers and discussed the forthcoming LS poll. Amit Thackeray had tried to find out which candidates are willing to contest the Pune LS poll. The report will be placed by Amit Thackeray during the meeting.
Raj Thackeray is going to make future plans after checking the reports of the observers. A discussion will be held regarding the party’s approach during the LS poll and a decision will be taken by Raj Thackeray.
Former corporator Vasant More has staked claim for the Pune LS seat which has become vacant after the death of MP Girish Bapat. More had made a statement that if he is given an opportunity, he may become the first MNS MP from the state. More is conducting Lok Darbar and has started solving people’s grievances. Hence, there is discussion in political circles that Vasant More has started making preparations for LS poll.
Meanwhile, the relations between Vasant More and the party’s office-bearers is well known. Hence, there are doubts about More being chosen as the party’s candidate. However, after Amit Thackeray was entrusted with the responsibility of preparing a report about Pune LS constituency, it will be interesting to see the report and his observations about various party leaders who are hopeful about contesting the LS poll.
