Pune’s Spread Happiness Foundation Celebrates Anna Bhau Sathe Jayanti with Prestigious Awards Ceremony

Pune, 14th August 2023: On the eve of Anna Bhau Sathe Jayanti, the city of Pune was illuminated by the heartwarming celebration organized by the Spread Happiness Foundation. The Pune-based non-governmental organization paid tribute to the legacies of two remarkable social reformers, Pandit Sri Utkal Mani Gopabandhu Das and Anna Bhau Sathe, through a magnificent awards ceremony that honored their vision and contributions to society. The event served as a platform for acknowledging the relentless efforts of grassroots-level social workers and NGOs from Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, encouraging collaboration and a collective celebration of their impact.

The highlight of the evening was the distinguished presence of Mr. Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, a prominent member of the legislative assembly of Odisha, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The ceremony held a special significance for him as he was awarded the prestigious Utkal Mani Gopabandhu Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to cultural preservation, promotion of Odia heritage, and leadership in organizing impactful blood donation camps. Patnaik’s commitment to social service resonated with all attendees and was celebrated as an embodiment of the values championed by Pandit Sri Utkal Mani Gopabandhu Das.

Bhagawan Rao Vairat, a prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), adorned the event as the guest of honor. Vairat acknowledged the profound impact of the Spread Happiness Foundation on communities and praised the organization’s Chairman for their steadfast dedication to social service. The presence of local Indian National Congress leader MLA Ravi Dhangekar added to the event’s significance, as he extended his appreciation for the foundation’s nationwide contributions to society.

Anand Mahapatro, the General Secretary of the Spread Happiness Foundation, played a pivotal role in extending a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and dignitaries, setting a gracious tone for the evening. Students from Symbiosis and JSPM College actively participated in the event, offering their assistance to the invited guests and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere.
