Pune’s Pollution Battle: Citizens Turn to Air Purifiers and Green Remedies

In the heart of Pune, citizens are grappling with deteriorating air quality, prompting innovative solutions to combat the rising pollution levels. From Baner to Shivajinagar, residents are turning to air purifiers and natural remedies to create pockets of cleaner air in their homes and communities.

For one Baner resident, the routine begins every evening as she steps into her home. Closing doors and windows, she activates her trusty air purifier, finding solace in the influx of fresh, clean air. Having experienced the challenges of Delhi’s air, she brought the purifier to Pune, recognizing the pressing need this year.

While air purifiers are proving effective within the confines of homes, Shivajinagar residents point out the vulnerability of people once they step outside, particularly during commutes or when sending children to school.

In response to the escalating respiratory problems, bronchitis, and allergies reported by residents, some are exploring alternative remedies. Salt lamps and activated charcoal are gaining popularity as means to enhance air quality in homes.

The concern is palpable among parents as children in housing societies suffer from persistent coughing fits. Residents are calling for actionable measures to address the root cause of the deteriorating air quality.

In the pursuit of natural solutions, Pune’s residents are experimenting with candles made of beeswax and essential oils. Infused with extracts of clove, oregano, thyme, and rosemary, these candles contribute to purifying indoor air.

Additionally, the green touch is making a comeback as citizens introduce air-purifying plants like bamboo, aloe vera, and money plants into their living spaces. This collective effort reflects a shared determination to combat pollution and prioritize the well-being of Pune’s residents.
