Pune’s Nesave Village Witnesses Heroic Rescue as Sambar Deer Saved from Stray Dog Attack

In a heartwarming incident, the collective efforts of villagers and the wildlife rescue team of Maval saved a sambar deer from an attack by stray dogs in Nesave village, Maval taluka. The incident was reported on January 27, with Kiran Shirsat, a resident of Maval Taluka, bringing the situation to the attention of Nilesh Garade, President of the wildlife rescuer of Maval, and team member Chandrakant Bombale.

Upon receiving the information, the rescue team, comprising Chandrakant Bombale, Jigar Solanki, and forest guard Chavan, quickly reached the spot. They found a female sambar deer lying in the bushes, having been attacked by stray dogs. Fortunately, the deer did not sustain severe injuries. The rescue team, along with the assistance of villagers, successfully saved the deer.

The rescued sambar deer was then transported to the ResQ charitable trust in Pune under the guidance of Range Forest Officer Sushil Mantavar, ensuring the animal received the necessary care and attention.

The collaborative efforts of the rescue team, including Vishal Shirsat, Anil Shirsat, Ramdas Shirsat, Bharat Shirsat, Datta Shirsat, Gulab Shirsat, Suraj Shirsat, and others from the village, played a crucial role in the successful execution of the rescue operation.
