In a case of alleged intellectual property theft, a woman is facing accusations of establishing a new company based on stolen research data, patent information, and other materials. This incident, which unfolded in Mahalunge, spans from September 2018 until October 2023.
The Allegation:
Adhir Prabhakar Potdar, a resident of Pashan, has formally reported the matter to the Hinjawadi police station (Pimpri Chinchwad Police). In response to this complaint, the police have initiated a case against the female accused and Suresh Atul More, a resident of Kothrud, on charges of cheating and theft of information.
The Sequence of Events:
As per the police investigation, the female accused, in partnership with the complainant, established a company called Nas Mycotech in 2018 with the aim of manufacturing biodegradable packaging materials. A share partnership of 33:33 was agreed upon. However, after patent preparations were made, the woman resigned from her position as director and ceased company operations. Subsequently, the complainant discovered that the woman was in the process of establishing another company with a similar patent.
Deceptive Actions:
Upon raising objections to these actions, the patent was not approved. Subsequently, the accused allegedly went on to create a new company named Kavak Greentech. This new venture was allegedly founded using research data, confidential information, and patent data acquired from the Nas Mycotech company in Mahalunge.
The accused is accused of deceiving the complainant both financially and by withholding a share in the newly established company. Moreover, it is alleged that this new company was established with mutual knowledge of acquired materials and patent data.
Ongoing Investigation:
The Hinjawadi police have registered the case, and further investigations are underway to address the alleged intellectual property theft and financial deception.
