Pune’s FYJC Admissions Witness Surge as Special Round 3 Commences

The School Education and Sports Department in Pune has initiated the special round 3 for First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions. This round is aimed at accommodating students who are still seeking admissions into junior colleges for the academic year. The process includes new registrations, option form filling and editing, as well as document verification by guidance centers for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), in-house, and minority quota admissions.

The ongoing special round 3 will conclude on Tuesday, marking the final day for all activities related to registrations, option forms, and document verification. After the completion of these steps, the allotment list will be published on the official website of the School Education and Sports Department (https://pune.11thadmission.org.in/Public/Home.aspx) on August 10 at 10 am.

Students whose names appear on the allotment list will have a window of time between 10 am on August 10 and 6 pm on August 12 to confirm their admissions in the allocated college.

Currently, approximately 80% of the total registered students (71,535) have secured admissions in 326 junior colleges located within the Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation areas.

With the commencement of the special round 3, there are 36,278 vacant seats available for aspiring students. The most recent official data indicates that in the preceding special round 2, a total of 5,396 students confirmed their admissions. In terms of overall intake capacity, around 45,000 seats (38.6%) remain vacant.

In terms of subject preferences, over 36,000 students have opted for the Science stream, while more than 26,000 have chosen Commerce. Approximately 7,000 students have expressed interest in the Arts stream, and 1,720 students have shown interest in the Higher Secondary Vocational Course (HSVC).

Language preferences among the students include 57,893 enrolling for the English medium, followed by 13,526 for Marathi. Additionally, a small number of students have chosen Hindi (75) and Urdu (41) as their preferred mediums of instruction in Pune.

As the special round 3 progresses, students and parents are looking forward to securing admissions that align with their preferences and academic aspirations, ensuring a smooth start to their higher education journey.
