PUNE: Businesswoman Neha Narkhede, who is daughter of Pune, is known as one of the most successful women in the US. She is included in the list of richest US businesswomen. Neha Narkhede last month entered the Forbes list of richest self-made women.
Neha’s net worth is ₹520 million i.e. ₹42 crore. She is the co-founder and board member of software company Confluent which provides cloud service. The valuation of Confluent is $9.1 bln i.e. ₹75,000 crore.
Neha grew up in Pune. She went to the US to pursue her masters in 2006. After completing her education, she worked as technical staff in Oracle for two years. Later, she worked as a software engineer at LinkedIn. She got a promotion after a year and she became a senior software engineer. After a year, she was promoted to principal software engineer. Later, she became Stream Infrastructure Lead. Neha and her team developed an open source messaging system app which was used to handle the site’s data.
Neha and her two colleagues left their jobs in LinkedIn and started Confluent. The company provides cloud solutions. The company helps other companies to process data in large quantities. Neha was Chief Technology and Product Officer of the company for five years. At present, she is a board member. Neha started Aucilor company in 2012 and she is its CEO.
In an interview given to CNBC, she said that her father played a big role in her success. She said her father used to bring books for her and tell her about women holding high positions. She also got inspiration from reading about Indira Gandhi, Indra Nooyi, Kiran Bedi etc.
