Pune’s Bogus Homeopathy Clinics: Fake Doctor Nabbed by Police

In a concerning revelation, the Pune City Police have apprehended an individual involved in running three homeopathy clinics in Vimannagar and Kharadi, despite lacking the requisite qualifications and registrations. The matter came to light following a complaint filed by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), prompting swift action by the authorities.

The accused, identified as Chaitali Sunil Bagul, a resident of Kalyan, had operated these clinics in Pune between 2017 and 2020. Shockingly, investigations revealed that she possessed neither the necessary homeopathy qualifications nor valid registration with the Maharashtra Council of Homeopathy. Moreover, it was found that she was presently not engaged in any legitimate medical practice.

A case has been registered under sections 33(2) of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners (MMP) Act at the Yerawada Police Station, marking a significant step towards addressing this fraudulent activity. Law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing further investigations in this matter to prevent such deceptive practices.

Health department officials from the municipal corporation have issued a stern advisory to the public, emphasizing the importance of verifying the authenticity of healthcare providers before seeking treatment or consultations. It is crucial that individuals ensure that any doctor or clinic they visit possesses the mandatory qualifications and is duly registered with the appropriate regulatory authorities.

In the wake of this incident, officials have underscored their commitment to taking stringent action against any healthcare facility operating without valid registration or the requisite qualifications. Such facilities not only endanger the well-being of patients but also undermine the credibility of the healthcare sector as a whole.

Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious healthcare practices to the relevant authorities. The public’s cooperation is essential in safeguarding the integrity and safety of healthcare services within the city.
