PUNE / MANCHAR: A youth who was riding a two-wheeler to go to his work place died after an electricity pole fell on his head and chest. The pillion rider has been injured. The incident took place at Sakore in Ambegaon taluka today morning. The deceased has been identified as Vishal Santosh Dhage (23), a resident of Sakore. The pillion rider, Ajit Sahebrao Modhve, has been injured. Local residents have expressed grief about the incident.

Today at 9 am, both were going to Manchar via Wadgaon Kashimbe. In the limits of Sakore village, an electricity pole had been put up on the barrage of a field belonging to Dattatray Bhikaji Modhve, three days ago. Since it was raining heavily since night, the pole collapsed and fell on the head of Vishal Dhage and he was injured on chest also. Both the youths fell on the road. Vishal Dhage was seriously injured. Ajit Modhve, who was injured, informed the villagers about the incident.
Anil Gade, Ganesh Modhve, Sachin Bheke, Sachin Modhve, Ashish Gade and Vijay Gade took Vishal Dhage to the sub-district hospital at Manchar. The doctors declared him dead. Ajit Modhve, who was injured, is being treated at a private hospital at Manchar.
Police Havaldar Rajendra Hile and Vilas Sable carried out the panchnama. Villagers have expressed grief over the incident. Vishal was a very friendly person and known by many people. He is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
