The scam revolved around the manipulation of a popular online shopping app, where the victim was lured with the promise of lucrative rewards. Disturbingly, the victim’s trust was manipulated by a cybercriminal who posed as an official representative of the shopping app. The criminal employed persuasive tactics to deceive the woman into believing that she would be receiving a substantial reward in exchange for a nominal payment.
Wanwadi police station has confirmed that the woman has taken the necessary steps by filing a formal complaint regarding the incident.
