The weather report suggests the possibility of moderate rain and thunderstorms on November 8 and 9. Additionally, the minimum temperature is expected to rise slightly in the coming days. A low-pressure area is likely to form in the East Central Arabian Sea around November 8, which will impact the weather in south-central Maharashtra.
With the strengthening of easterly winds, there is an influx of moisture into Maharashtra. Currently, the moisture is concentrated in the southern part of the state and is projected to extend further into the central region.
As a result, Pune, located in the central division of Maharashtra, is likely to experience light rain around November 7 and 8. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Pune has not forecasted any rainfall during the Diwali festival.
According to the latest IMD-GFS model, moderate rain and thunderstorms are predicted in Pune on November 8 and 9.
Anupam Kashyapi, head of the weather and forecasting division at IMD Pune, mentioned that there is a minimal chance of light rainfall on November 7 and 8, preceding Diwali, and no rainfall expected during the festival. On a recent Saturday, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 31.9 degrees Celsius, with a minimum temperature of 16.8 degrees Celsius.
The anticipated formation of a low-pressure area in the East Central Arabian Sea by November 8 is due to the west-northwestern movement of a cyclonic circulation over south Tamil Nadu. The strong easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are contributing to this development. Anupam Kashyapi explained that this low-pressure area is likely to impact the weather in south-central Maharashtra over the next few days.
