Pune: Ganesh immersion procession in Pune ends after 30 hours and 25 minutes

PUNE: The Ganesh immersion procession which started at 10.30 am on Thursday, was led by village deity and first revered Kasba Ganpati in a palanquin amidst the performance of dhol tasha troupes and the presence of lakhs of Puneites and at 4.58 pm on Friday, the last Ganesh idol of Samrat Tarun Mandal passed through the Alka Theatre Chowk. The administration announced that the immersion procession had ended. Around 624 Ganesh mandals took part in the immersion procession from Laxmi Road, Kumthekar Road, Kelkar Road and Tilak Road.

Time taken for immersion processions in last few years

2016: 28 hours 30 minutes
2017: 28 hours 05 minutes
2018: 27 hours 15 minutes
2019: 24 hours
2020 and 2021: No processions were held due to COVID-19 epidemic
2022: 31 hours
2023: 30 hours 25 minutes

First revered Ganpati: Kasba Ganpati, Procession starts at 10.30 am and immersion at 4.37 pm
Second revered Ganpati: Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganpati, Procession starts at 11 am and immersion at 5.11 pm
Third revered Ganpati: Guruji Talim Ganpati, Procession starts at 12 noon and immersion at 5.54 pm
Fourth revered Ganpati: Tulshibaug Ganpati, Procession starts at 1 pm and immersion at 6.32 pm
Fifth revered Ganpati: Kesariwada Ganpati, Procession starts at 2.15 pm and immersion at 6.59 pm
