Pune: UPI ticket system to be started in PMPML buses soon

PUNE: The UPI ticket system (QR code) i.e. Google Pay, Phone Pe, Paytm is going to begin in PMPML buses. Hence, there will be no more arguments over change between passengers and conductors. The money earned from the sale of tickets will be deposited in PMPML’s account and this will curb corruption. The PMPML administration has decided to start the UPI ticket system (QR code) in its buses from next week.

Earlier, there used to be frequent arguments between passengers and conductors due to the cash ticket system. There were complaints that some conductors were not returning the change to passengers. Corruption was also taking place by selling tickets in an illegal manner. PMPML CMD Sachindra Pratap Singh has taken a decision to start the UPI system in its buses for the convenience of passengers.

PMPML’s CMD has decided to increase the revenue of the transport utility and he is making efforts in various directions. A concessional pass system has been started for students of private classes. A daily pass has been started at ₹120 to allow passengers to travel in Pune, Pimpri and PMRDA limits. A monthly pass has been started for passengers.

“The UPI system (QR code) is being started in PMPML buses from next week. The work of starting the system is in the final stage and passengers will definitely benefit from it,” said PMPML’s CMD Sachindra Pratap Singh.
