Pune: Two persons have been arrested for supplying a pistol to the assailants of gangster Sharad Mohol, who was killed in broad daylight in Kothrud recently. Three persons were directly involved in the shooting while eight people were arrested immediately after the incident.
The accused underwent training in Mulshi before actually shooting Mohol, who was killed near his residence. It was learnt that the two arrested persons had supplied the pistol, which was used to kill Mohol. The arrested have been identified as Dhananjay Maruti Vatkar and Satish Sanjay Shedge.
Sharad Mohol was shot at by his accomplice Sahil alias Munna Polekar and others on January 5. These accused had practised shooting three times at various places in Mulshi. More arrests are likely to take place in the case.
Sahil alias Munna Polekar (20), a resident of Kothrud, Namdev Mahipati Kangude (35), a resident of Parvati, Chandrakant Shahu Shelke (22), a resident of Parvati, Vinayak Santosh Gavhankar (20), a resident of Mulshi, and Vitthal Kisan Gandle (34), a resident of Kothrud, have already been arrested and their police custody has been extended by seven days.
