Pune: Tragic Collision On Mumbai-Bangalore Highway Claims Life: Rickshaw Passenger Dead, Several Injured

Pune: In a devastating incident on December 7 at approximately 5:30 a.m., a fatal collision occurred on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway, leaving one passenger dead and three others seriously injured. The mishap unfolded at the conclusion of the ramp before Navale Bridge, when a rickshaw collided with a travel bus.

The deceased passenger has been identified as 54-year-old Yashwant Zanzhurne, a resident of Vikhroli. Aniket Yashwant Zanjurne (24), filed a complaint at the Sinhagad Road Police Station on Wednesday (20th). The case has been registered against the driver of the travel bus with registration number MH 04 HY 7152, invoking sections 279, 283, 304A, 337, 338, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with 134 (a) (b), 184, and 119/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

According to the police report, the plaintiff was travelling with his parents and relatives in a rickshaw. Upon reaching the end of the ramp before Navale Bridge, the accused driver overtook the plaintiff’s rickshaw and suddenly halted the travel bus in front of the victim’s rickshaw. Consequently, the rickshaw collided with the rear of the bus.

As a result, the plaintiff, his parents, and Dattatraya Khanzode sustained severe injuries. Tragically, the plaintiff’s father succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Aniket Zanjurne approached the Sinhagad Road Police Station on Wednesday, filing a complaint after the funeral of his father and the discharge of his mother. The sub-inspector of police Bunage is currently leading the ongoing investigation.
