Pune Traffic Police Introduces Diversions on Sinhagad Road for Enhanced Traffic Flow: Details Inside

Pune, Aug 20 – In a bid to streamline traffic and ensure the safety of commuters, the Pune Traffic Police have implemented a series of traffic diversions on Sinhagad Road. These changes are aimed at optimizing traffic movement and minimizing congestion on this crucial route.

According to the official statement provided by the Pune Traffic Police, commuters traveling from Swargate to Vadgaon Bridge (Veer Baji Pasalkar route) will now follow a modified route. The new route entails taking a left turn at the Ganesh Mala Signal onto Sinhagad Road, then proceeding along Janata Colony Canal Road at Misal Park (Canal Junction), and finally turning right on the Anand Vihar Road, which has been designated for traffic flow towards Tukai Nagar Chowk.

For vehicles originating from Swargate, the updated route involves making a left turn at Sinhagad Road Regional Office and proceeding through London Bridge Square towards Misal Garden. Additionally, one-way traffic is now enforced from Misal Park (Canal Junction) to Vishranti Nagar Chowk through a left turn.

Notably, vehicles originating from Misal Park (Canal Junction) are prohibited from using the left side of the canal. The section from Hingne to Mahadev Nagar is off-limits for four-wheelers, with only two-wheelers being permitted to use the London Bridge that connects the two canal roads.

On the canal road, heavy traffic is not allowed from Janata Colony to Sinhagad Road Regional Office, specifically in the vicinity of Fun Time Theatre. Another restriction is in place from Goyal Ganga Chowk to Sinhagad Road Regional Office, where a designated no-parking zone has been established along the Veer Shiva Kashid (Manik Bagh DP Road) extending up to ICICI Bank.

Parking arrangements have been meticulously organized. Four-wheelers have designated parking areas on both sides of the road, ranging from Goyalganga Chowk to ICICI Bank Amritganga Society Gate No. 4 Shorba Hotel, and from the proposed theatre to Atithi Hotel after the divider ends. Two-wheelers, too, have specific parking areas on the right side of the road, stretching from HDFC Bank to Soba Optima Society Gate near a tea shop.

Furthermore, there is a complete prohibition on parking on both sides of the road, spanning from Sinhagad Road Regional Office Chowk to Veer Shiva Kashi Chowk and extending until the divider ends.

The Pune Traffic Police encourage citizens to provide their feedback, suggestions, or objections regarding these traffic changes. Written submissions can be made to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Control Branch, Yerwada Post Office, Bungalow No. 6, Jail Road, Pune, by August 20.

Vijay Kumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), stated that final orders regarding the traffic changes, with the exception of vehicles involved in essential services, will be issued after considering the suggestions and objections received from the public.

These changes are a result of the Pune Traffic Police’s continuous efforts to enhance traffic flow and safety across the city’s roads. The alterations aim to minimize congestion, improve commuting experiences, and align with the evolving transportation needs of the urban populace.
