Pune Traffic Police Announces Traffic Modifications for Ganesh Jayanti Celebrations

In preparation for the celebrations of Ganesh Jayanti on 13th February 2024, the Pune Traffic Police have announced significant traffic modifications to ensure the smooth flow of devotees visiting Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Mandir.

According to the Pune Traffic Police, a large number of devotees are expected to gather at the renowned Ganapati temple on the occasion of Ganesh Jayanti. The influx of devotees is anticipated to impact the traffic on key routes such as Shivaji Road, Lakshmi Road, and surrounding areas, potentially causing congestion and slowing down traffic flow.

To maintain the safety and efficiency of traffic in the area, the Pune Traffic Police have implemented changes to various routes, effective from 7:00 am on 13th February 2024, until the end of rush hours. During this period, all types of traffic routes will be altered, with exceptions made for essential service vehicles such as Fire Brigade and Ambulance.

The modified traffic routes are as follows:

  1. Motorists traveling from Puram Chowk to Shivaji Nagar via Bajirao Road are advised to take Tilak Road, proceed from Puram Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk, and reach their destination via FC Road.
  2. Motorists heading to Swargate from Shivaji Road are recommended to reach their destination via S.G. Barve Chowk, Jungli Maharaj Road, Khandoji Baba Chowk, Tilak Chowk, and Tilak Road.
  3. Motorists traveling from S.G. Barve Chowk to PMC Bhavan are instructed to proceed via S.G. Barve Chowk, Jungli Maharaj Road, and turn left at Jhansi Rani Chowk to reach the desired destination.
  4. Traffic from Appa Balwant Chowk towards Budhwar Chowk will be temporarily stopped, and vehicles will be directed straight through Bajirao Road.

These traffic modifications aim to facilitate the smooth movement of both regular traffic and devotees visiting the Ganapati Mandir during the Ganesh Jayanti celebrations.
