The annual Palkhi ceremony, featuring the palanquins of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, will result in significant traffic changes in Pune and along the Dehu-Alandi route. Here are the detailed traffic adjustments and parking arrangements for this event.
Schedule and Route of the Palkhi Processions
- Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s Palanquin: Departs from Dehu on Friday, June 28. The first stop will be at Inamdar Wada in Dehu, and on Saturday, June 29, it will arrive at Vitthal Mandir in Akurdi.
- Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palanquin: Departs from Alandi on Saturday, June 29. The first stop will be at Gandhi Wada in Alandi.
Both palanquins will proceed towards Pune on Sunday, June 30.
Traffic Changes
In Alandi
The traffic changes will be in effect from June 25 to June 30 until 9 pm or until traffic is smooth.
- Chimbli to Alandi Road: Closed. Vehicles from Chimbli Phata Chowk, Chakan will be diverted via Jai Ganesh Empire Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, and Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk.
- Chakan to Alandi Route: Vehicles will be rerouted via Jai Ganesh Empire Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, and Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk.
- Wadgaon Ghenand to Alandi Route: Vehicles will be rerouted via Chakan-Wadgaon Ghenand Shel Pimpalgaon via Koyali Kaman, Koyali-Markalgaon.
- Markal to Alandi Route: Vehicles will be rerouted from Markal via Dhanore Phata to Charholi Phata-Magazine Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk.
- Bharat Mata Chowk to Alandi Route: Vehicles will go via Jai Ganesh Empire Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk, Moshi-Chakan-Shikrapur.
- Moshi to Alandi Route: Vehicles will be diverted via Jai Ganesh Empire Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk, and Moshi-Chakan-Shikrapur.
- Vishrantwadi to Alandi Route: Vehicles from Pune-Dighi Magazine Chowk to Alandi will go via Shel Pimpalgaon via Bhosari-Moshi-Chakan.
- Alankapuram-Jai Ganesh Empire Chowk Route: All vehicles will pass through here.
- Prohibited Areas: No vehicles will be allowed past Charholi Phata Chowk, Dudulgaon Jakat Naka, Kelgaon Chowk, Bapdev Chowk, Indrayani Hospital, Vishrantwadi, and Dhanori Fata/PCS Chowk.
In Dehu
- Mumbai-Pune Highway (Dehu Kaman to Dehugaon): Closed. Vehicles will go through Bhakti-Shakti Chowk to Triveninagar to Talwade Gavthan to Canbe Chowk to Khandelwal Chowk Dehugaon.
- Chakan to Kanbe Chowk and Talwade Gavthan Chowk to Kanbe Chowk to Mahindra Circle: Closed. Vehicles will go via Bharat Mata Chowk, Nashik Highway in Moshi.
- Talegaon-Chakan Road (Dehuphata to Dehugaon): Closed. Vehicles will go through HP Chowk.
- Dehu Arch to Chouda Talakari Arch to Bhairavanath Chowk: Closed for all vehicles.
- Khandelwal Chowk to Dehu Main Arch to Parandwal Chowk: Closed for all vehicles.
- Mumbai-Pune Highway (Central Chowk Dehu Road to Bhakti Shakti): Closed for all vehicles. Alternative route via Central Chowk-Mamurdi-Kivle-Bhumkar Chowk-Dange Chowk.

- North Side: 1 acre.
- Near Gyanvilas College Dudulgaon Zakat Naka: 10 gunthas.

- In front of Indrayani Hospital (Chakan Road): 9 acres.
- Vishrantwadi Vadgaon Road: 25 acres.
- In front of Muktai Mangal Office: 1 acre.
