Pune: A young woman taking tuitions for FYBCom and the UPSC exam was molested by her tutor. The tutor has been booked for molestation. The incident took place between June 2023 and November 2023 at an academy.
The 19-year-old victim lodged a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi Police Station on Thursday. Amit Sirmanwar (28), a resident of Balewadi, has been booked under sections 354A, 323, 324 of the IPC.
According to the police, the victim was visiting the academy run by the accused for the UPSC exam and FYBCom classes. The accused told the victim to do household chores at his home during class hours. He would beat her with a cane if she refused to work. He would talk to her in indecent language and frequently molested her. Then the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The police have registered a case and woman PSI Pawar is investigating the matter.
