Pune: Speeding car rams into six vehicles, pedestrian killed (Video)

PUNE: An incident of a speeding four-wheeler ramming into 5/6 vehicles and hitting pedestrians took place on Friday at 10.30 pm on NC Kelkar Road. A man died in the incident and 3/4 others were injured. There was a traffic jam on Kelkar Road after the incident. An angry mob damaged the four-wheeler and assaulted the driver.

The Vishrambaug police apprehended the car driver. The accused has been identified as car driver Umesh Hanumant Waghmare (48) and the car owner has been identified as Natraj Baburao Suryawanshi (44). The police have apprehended both the accused. Vishwanath Rajupadhye (56) died on the spot. The speeding car was travelling on NC Kelkar Road towards Tilak Chowk.

After crossing the Baba Bhide Bridge Chowk, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car rammed into 5/6 vehicles near the Hindu Mahila Ashram and hit some pedestrians. A 55-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot near the Gadgil Bridge and some others were injured.

The Vishrambaug police rushed to the spot after they were informed about the incident. The injured have been admitted to a hospital. The Vishrambaug police informed about the death of a pedestrian. The damaged vehicles include two-wheelers and some autorickshaws. The passengers of the rickshaws were injured. There was a traffic jam late in the night on Kelkar Road, Laxmi Road, Tilak Chowk area.
