Pune: Police Busted Illegal Selling of Drugs and Narcotics from Pimpri-Chinchwad; Apprehended Two People

Pune / Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch apprehends two people for allegedly selling narcotics and related drugs in the Hinjewadi area on Sunday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 32-year-old Imran Chand Sheikh, a resident of Mithanagar, Kondhwa, and 40-year-old Sameer Shahjahan Sheikh, a resident of Mahim, Mumbai. Police seized a stash of 65 grams of mephedrone (MD), a motorcycle, cash, and three mobile phones worth Rs 7 lakh, 52 thousand, and 700 from them in the action.

In this case, police constable Ajit Limbaraj Kute has filed a complaint at Hinjewadi Police Station.

As per the reports, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch was patrolling in the Hinjewadi area at night on Sunday. At that time, they received information that two individuals were coming to Bhujbal Chowk on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway to sell illicit drugs and narcotics.

Accordingly, police laid a trap in the area. At that time, they got suspicious of two people’s activities who were standing in front of Hotel Sonam. When the police interrogated them, they found 65 grams of MD with them.

Upon further inquiry, one of the accused, Imran Sheikh, confessed their involvement in illegally selling drugs in the area. He said that he purchased these narcotics from a Nigerian individual named Tony from Nalasopara. The police immediately apprehended two people and put them behind bars. Further investigation is ongoing under the charge of Assistant Police Inspector Khatal.
