Pune: A shocking incident involving sexual assault on a married woman and defaming her by sharing that footage on social media platforms has come to light in Aundh, near IT Park. In this regard, a victim woman filed a police complaint against Rishikesh Rohidas Pawar at Khadki police station on Friday, December 8.
The accused, Rishikesh Pawar, is a resident of Inrayaninagar, Bhosari. As per the police investigation, the accused and complainant initially connected to each other on Instagram. The accused subsequently developed a close relationship with the woman and eventually introduced himself to her husband.
After a substantial friendship with her husband, one day the accused came to the woman’s house, confirming she was alone in the house. At that time, he committed a sexual assault on the woman and astonishingly recorded that footage on his phone. He further threatened the woman to remain silent about this harrowing incident.
With the fear of social defamation, the woman initially chose to remain silent; however, the accused went further sharing this footage on social media platforms to defame the woman. After this, the distressed woman rushed to Khadki police station and registered a formal complaint against the accused.
Taking swift action, police registered the accused under IPC 376, 323, 506, and the IT Act. Police Crime Inspector Mansingh Patil is conducting further investigation in this matter.
