Pune: Residents in Limbo as Completed Bridge in Keshav Nagar Lies Unused, Traffic Woes Persist

Anticipation has turned to frustration in Keshav Nagar, where a fully constructed underbridge connecting the area to Amanora sits idle, despite completion for several weeks. The bridge, hailed as a potential solution to traffic congestion and a blessing for Keshav Nagar residents, remains inaccessible to the public, sparking confusion and inconvenience.

The underbridge, spanning from Keshav Nagar to Amanora Park Town, has stood complete for over a month, adorned with lights, a cemented road, and painted surfaces, as reported by local residents. Yet, it sits unused, its lights illuminating the night sky without serving its intended purpose. The lack of communication from authorities has left residents puzzled about the delay in opening the bridge for public use.

Chaitanya Sharma, a resident of Mundhwa, highlights a significant hurdle to opening the bridge: a land issue on the Amanora side, where road connectivity is lacking. Without a road linking to the bridge, residents remain oblivious to its existence, worsening traffic congestion in the area. With only one exit route through the railway crossing, operating as a one-way route, navigating through the area has become increasingly daunting, especially during peak hours.

Sharma expressed frustration at the lack of communication with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) regarding the bridge. Frustrated by the lack of progress, residents are urging swift action to resolve the impasse and open the bridge for public use. They stress the potential benefits of the bridge, such as bypassing Mundhwa Chowk and the railway crossing, providing direct access to Hadapsar, Amanora, and Magarpatta. Improved connectivity is urgently needed to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance the quality of life for Keshav Nagar residents.

As of yet, there has been no response or action from the Pune Municipal Corporation regarding the issue, leaving residents in limbo as they await resolution and relief from their traffic woes.
