Pune Residents Craft Garments for Lord Rama and Saree for Mata Sita, Symbolizing Faith in Ayodhya

Pune, India – As the nation prepares for the consecration of Lord Rama’s idol on January 22 in Ayodhya, the city of Pune has showcased its devotion through a distinctive initiative titled “Do Dhage Shraddha ke” organized by Satyanarayan Cloth Stores in Wagholi. This campaign aimed to weave a saree for Mata Sita and clothes for Lord Shri Ram, with the handcrafted items ceremonially sent to Ayodhya after a ritualistic puja.

Approximately 12,000 to 13,000 Pune residents actively participated in the initiative, conducted from January 6 to January 15 in Wagholi. The unique endeavor symbolizes the collective faith and devotion of the community, with skilled artisans ensuring meticulous weaving of garments.

Participants engaged with handloom machines, not only contributing to crafting the garments but also symbolically serving Lord Rama through their efforts. The initiative, “Do Dhage Shraddha ke,” aimed to involve citizens in the consecration preparations while fostering a sense of devotion and unity.

Rajaram Agarwal, Bharat Agarwal, Kishor Mittal, Ruchika Mittal, Ritesh Mittal, and Nilesh Agarwal, representatives of Satyanarayan Cloth Stores in Wagholi, shared the warm welcome extended to customers, adorned in saffron attire, and chanting “Jai Shri Ram.” A sacred Akshat Kalash from Ayodhya was placed for public viewing in their store, adding to the temple-like atmosphere.

The day-long weaving sessions took place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Satyanarayan Cloth Stores in Wagholi, attracting participants of all ages. The initiative strengthened the sense of community and unity among the participants, showcasing their devotion and pride in contributing to the crafting of garments for Lord Rama and Mother Sita.

As the symbolic garments make their way to Ayodhya, the initiative stands as a testament to the city’s active involvement in religious and historical campaigns, emphasizing the deep-rooted faith and commitment of Pune residents.
