RMD Foundation’s Ranjangaon Marathon Empowers Rural Girls: A Celebration of Determination

The Ranjangaon Marathon, organized by the RMD Foundation, witnessed a remarkable celebration of empowerment as Janhavi Dhariwal Balan, the President of RMD Foundation and Managing Director of Manikchand Oxyrich, expressed delight at the substantial participation of girls from rural areas.

For the past six years, the RMD Foundation has been a driving force in providing a significant platform for rural youth to engage in marathon competitions. Shobha R Dhariwal, Vice President of the RMD Foundation, expressed optimism about the long-term impact of this initiative, nurturing better runners for the future. With over 5000 runners participating, the marathon proved to be a testament to the growing enthusiasm for sports in rural communities.

Shirur MP and actor Dr Amol Kolhe played a motivational role at the event. He gestured towards the “I’m a finisher” board on the ground, encouraging the runners to set ambitious goals and persist until they achieve them.

Actor Akash Tosar, renowned for his role in the film “Sairat,” commended the Foundation’s efforts in organizing marathon competitions in rural areas, fostering a competitive spirit among participants.

The successful runners received medals and cash prizes, and schools with high student participation were recognized with water coolers. Sagar Pachundkar Patil, President of Ganapati Foundation, was felicitated for successfully organizing the marathon competition for the past six years. The event saw the presence of various dignitaries, officials, and villagers, making it a vibrant celebration of community and sportsmanship.
