Pune Resident Falls Victim to Furniture Scam, Loses ₹3,32,995 in Bavdhan

Pune News : A 56-year-old resident of Bavdhan found himself ensnared in a scam on Sunday, March 3, when he responded to an online advertisement for furniture. The unsuspecting victim ended up losing a substantial amount of Rs 3,32,995 in the fraudulent transaction.

The Hinjawadi police registered a case based on the victim’s complaint against an unidentified individual involved in the scam. According to the police, the accused took advantage of the complainant’s interest in purchasing used furniture. The fraudster engaged in deceptive practices, sending fake scans and ultimately withdrawing Rs 3,32,995 from the victim’s account under the guise of facilitating the furniture purchase.

Law enforcement authorities, specifically the Hinjawadi Police, are actively investigating the case to identify the perpetrator and bring them to justice. Incidents of online scams and fraudulent activities have become increasingly prevalent, emphasizing the need for individuals to exercise caution and vigilance while engaging in online transactions.
