Pune: Quality work should happen in films, says FTII Director R Madhavan

PUNE: FTII President and noted actor and director R Madhavan said that people in the film industry should be enthusiastic and do quality work. Madhavan had come to FTII for the first time after being appointed as president. During his two-day visit, he held talks with teachers and employees. He also had discussions with representatives of students’ association on Thursday to understand the functioning of various departments. There was a joyful atmosphere on the campus due to the arrival of Madhavan.

Madhavan also met the heads of departments and members of the FTII employees association and got to know about their problems. He praised the FTII administration for conducting more than 450 short courses under the aegis of open learning vertical and centre for open learning. He expressed happiness about the fact that free short courses are organised for students of adivasis all over the country as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

Members of FTII Students Association said, “Madhavan discussed problems about infrastructure and educational issues with us. We told him that he should become a part of various activities of FTII and solve students’ problems. He listened to our point of view and assured us that he would try to solve our problems.”
