Pune: Pune police have registered a case against Congress party workers who tried to protest against union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Youth Congress city president Rahul Duryodhan Shirsath, regional secretary Raju Pandu Thombre (35), Swapnil Ravindra Naik (27), Ashutosh Nitin Jadhav Rao (30), general secretary Akshay Kumar Jain (31), Akshay Prakash Mane, Yogesh Sarjerao Yadav (34) have been booked.

According to the information provided by the police, “Union Minister Amit Shah was staying at JW Marriott Hotel at Senapati Bapat Road during his visit to Pune. He was going to attend a program in Pimpri on Sunday morning. Youth Congress party workers gathered on the road in front of Vijay Sales on Senapati Bapat Road with placards in their hands and without any police permission protested against Amit Shah. The police team detained them earlier and registered a case against them as they were not responding to the ban order by the police. Assistant police inspector Koli is investigating the case.”
