Pune Police Register Case Against Accused For Molesting Female PT Teacher On Social Media

Pune: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old female physical training (PT) teacher from Nana Peth, Pune, has been subjected to online harassment and molestation on social media. The unknown accused has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for sending obscene messages, uploading the victim’s and her female friend’s photos, and sending shameful messages.

The 23-year-old victim, who filed a complaint at Samarth Police Station, stated that the accused had been sending her abusive messages on Instagram. He then uploaded her photo and her female friend’s photo on social media and sent obscene messages, causing immense shame and distress to the victim.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Pune Police promptly registered a case against the accused under IPC sections 354(a)(1)(4), 354(d), 509, 507, and 504. Further investigation is underway.

In Pune, the problem of women’s safety is growing more pressing by the day, and cases of molestation and crime against women are increasingly commonplace. The most recent report states that there is roughly one recorded instance of crime against women in the city. Therefore, the safety of women in cities is once again called into doubt by this most recent instance.
