Pune Police Commissioner Takes Stringent Action Against Notorious Criminals under MPDA Act

Pune: In a decisive move, Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has invoked the stringent Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act against Ajinkya Ramchandra Shinde, widely known as Saiyya Aadhav, a 31-year-old resident of Kasba Peth, Pune. This marks the 79th such action taken by the Police Commissioner.

The accused, Ajinkya Shinde, alias Saiyya Adhav, has a criminal record at the Faraskhana Police Station and has been involved in serious offences, including attempted murder, assault, and illegal possession of deadly weapons such as a bayonet and pistol within the police station limits. Over the past five years, four serious criminal cases have been registered against him.

Upon receiving a proposal to take action under the MPDA Act, Commissioner Ritesh Kumar carefully examined the documents and verified the proposals before issuing the order to lodge Ajinkya Shinde, alias Saiyya Adhav, in Nagpur Central Jail for one year under the MPDA Act.

The operation was executed by a dedicated team led by Senior Police Inspector Dadasaheb Chudappa of Faraskhana Police Station and Senior Police Inspector Chandrakant Bedre of the Crime Branch, PCB, along with other police officers and enforcers.

This decisive action reflects the commitment of the Pune Police Commissioner to address and curb criminal activities within the city limits, ensuring the safety and security of its residents.
