Pune: PMPML Chairman Takes Charge and Initiates “Action Mode” After Bus Journey

Pune, 12th July 2023: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has taken proactive steps to address the daily commuting problems faced by passengers in Pune. In a move to better understand these challenges and improve bus services, the newly appointed Chairman and Managing Director, Sachindra Pratap Singh, embarked on a bus journey on Monday.

During his ride, Singh engaged with fellow commuters to discuss their concerns and gather valuable insights for the development of bus services. To encourage citizen participation and foster dialogue, PMPML has launched a unique initiative called “Passenger Day.”

As part of this program, Singh boarded a bus at Shivajinagar and traveled from Manapa to Alandi, purchasing a regular ticket priced at Rs. 50. By personally experiencing the difficulties faced by passengers, he gained a firsthand understanding of their needs and concerns.

In an effort to address issues related to bus service errors, enhance passenger-centric services, and tackle fare-related concerns, PMPML has decided to hold “Passenger Day” every second and fourth Friday of the month. These sessions will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at each depot, providing passengers with an opportunity to voice their grievances and seek guidance.

To make it more convenient for passengers who struggle to lodge complaints or provide feedback due to work commitments or lack of time, PMPML has established complaint submission points at main bus depots and ticket centers. This initiative aims to streamline the process and ensure that every passenger’s concerns are heard.

PMPML strongly encourages citizens to actively participate in the ongoing “Passenger Day” program. By engaging with the public and collecting their valuable input, the transportation authority aims to improve the overall bus service experience and meet the needs of the commuting community in Pune. The initiative reflects the commitment of PMPML to address passenger concerns and work towards enhancing the efficiency and quality of bus services in the city.

The proactive approach taken by PMPML, under the leadership of Sachindra Pratap Singh, showcases the organization’s dedication to actively involve passengers in the decision-making process and prioritize their needs. By taking initiatives like “Passenger Day,” PMPML aims to create a more passenger-friendly and efficient bus service system that caters to the diverse needs of the Pune community.
