Pune: In Pune’s Bibvewadi area, a young man threatened to send a minor girl’s naked images to her relatives, subjecting her to molestation and verbal abuse. This incident took place in June 2023 and July 2023 at the victim’s house in Bibvewadi. In this regard, a case has been registered against one person of molestation under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Regarding this, the young girl’s mother has lodged a complaint at the Market Yard Police Station. Acting swiftly, police registered a complaint against an accused named Amankumar under Indian Penal Code 354, 354D, Information and Technology Act 66E, POCSO Section 11, 12.
As per the police complaint report, the minor girl has been playing an online entertainment game named Free Fire for the past three years. Through this game, she came into contact with a person named Amankumar, which resulted in a love relationship between them. Remarkably, in June 2023, the complainant’s daughter was coerced by the accused to send her private photos to the accused while being promised marriage.
After a minor girl sent her photos to the accused, the accused started harassing her. He then repeatedly started to threaten to send the photos to her relatives if she did not stay in a relationship with him. Furthermore, he also abused and molested her. It has been mentioned in the complaint that the accused sent nude photos of the girl to her father and grandmother through WhatsApp.
The Market Yard Police took a stringent note of the complaint, and Lady Police Inspector Swapnali Shinde is conducting further investigation into the case.
