Pune: One held for stealing stamps from Sassoon Hospital, using them for fake fitness certificate

Pune: One person has been arrested while another one has been booked for stealing government stamps from the office of the Superintendent of the Sassoon Hospital to prepare a fake medical certificate.

The Bund Garden Police have arrested a person and booked another one. The incident took place on December 14 at the hospital.

Dr Shailesh Shivshankar Damshetty (26), a resident of Rasta Peth, lodged a complaint in this regard on Wednesday. Prakash Pandurang Mondkar (34), a resident of Sindhudurg, has been arrested while Satpal Pawar, a resident of Satara district, has been booked.

According to the police, Mondkar and Pawar visited the Sassoon Hospital on December 14 to procure the Fitness Certificate. They entered the office of the Superintendent, Dr Prajakta Bhailume, and stole the stamps and prepared the fake Fitness Certificate. After realising the theft, Dr Damshetty approached the police.
