Pune: A 49-year-old man faces legal action for allegedly molesting an 18-year-old girl while she was walking home after a workout at the gym. This distasteful incident took place between City Pride Mall and Palkhi Hotel in Karvenagar on Tuesday (9th) at around 9 p.m.
In this regard, the 18-year-old girl, living in Kothrud, lodged a police complaint against the accused, identified as Nitin Gajanan Shekapure. A 49-year-old Shekapure is currently residing at NDA Road, Shinde Nagar, Bavdhan. She mentioned that on Wednesday, the accused allegedly chased her when she was returning from the gym after her workout.
After that, the accused stopped her at the rikshaw stand in Karvenagar and attempted to molest her by inappropriately touching her body. He also tried to get unnecessarily intimate with her and outrage her modesty. Distressed by this fact, the victim girl immediately escaped from there and filed a complaint against the accused at Alankar police station.
Accordingly, police booked the accused under IPC 354 and 354 D. Police sub-inspector Khedkar is conducting further investigation.
