Pune: MPSC Aspirant Attacked With Sickle On Tilak Road

PUNE: A shocking incident took place on Wednesday morning wherein a youth, who was preparing for competitive exams (MPSC Exams), was assaulted with a sickle by three youths who were under the influence of drugs. An FIR has been registered at the Vishrambaug police station.

A complaint has been lodged by Balaji Yallappa Arote (19), a resident of Sadashiv Peth and hailing from Nanded. The police have arrested three persons.

According to the police, the complainant youth hails from Nanded district. He came to Pune to prepare for competitive examinations. He used to go to a study centre in Sadashiv Peth. He has rented a room with his friends. There are many study centres in Sadashiv Peth area and they are open at night. The three friends were going home early in the morning after studying.
When they reached near a sports shop on Tilak Road, three persons travelling on a two-wheeler blocked their way. One of them caught hold of the complainant and took him aside. He took out a sickle from the vehicle and tried to hit him on his head but the complainant ducked and saved himself.

The complainant and his friends rushed to the police chowki. The police are searching for the absconding accused.
