Pune: Ministers and MLAs involved in drug racket; Carry out narco test of dean of Sassoon Hospital, demands Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare

Sushma Andhare-Ravindra Dhangekar

PUNE: Shiv Sena’s Deputy Leader Sushma Andhare and Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar have levelled serious allegations regarding the drugs found outside Sassoon Hospital. They have demanded that Sassoon Hospital’s Dean Dr Sanjeev Thakur, Rosary School Director Vinay Aranha, his driver Datta Doke and drug smuggler Lalit Patil’s brother Bhushan Patil should be made co-accused and their narco test should be conducted.

Andhare has made a sensational allegation that Minister Dada Bhuse, some MLAs and office-bearers of some political parties are involved in the drugs racket. She said that she would reveal the names of two ministers involved in the racket.

Andhare said that a probe cannot be carried out against a minister and he would have to resign and hence, Dada Bhuse would have to resign. Later, he can be probed regarding his involvement in the drug racket.

“The Dean of Sassoon Hospital Dr Sanjeev Thakur does not have a right to remain in this post. Vivek Aranha’s name is being discussed in connection with the case. What kind of treatment do these prisoners avail of for one and two years? Information should be made available about happenings in ward number 16 of Sassoon Hospital. The police have apprehended Arhana’s driver Datta Doke. However, Doke is only Aranha’s driver. So many days have passed but the home minister is not willing to speak on this issue. Efforts are being made to push this issue under the carpet,” Andhare added.
