Pune Metro Offers Retail Opportunities: Bids Invited for 38 Spaces at Metro Stations

In a significant move that spells opportunity for small business owners, retailers, and entrepreneurs, the Pune Metro Rail project has initiated the retail licensing process, opening the doors for commercial spaces within metro station premises. With 38 spaces up for grabs, this marks a strategic move for businesses to establish a visible and accessible presence within the burgeoning metro network.

The Pune Metro Rail Project is offering the licensing of Retail Business Spaces, each with an area of less than 100 sq meters, at select metro stations along Corridor-1 and Corridor-2. The licensing period extends to 9 years, providing a substantial window for businesses to thrive within the metro environment. Pune Metro has officially invited tenders for the issuance of licenses for these retail business premises.

Interested parties can find more information and details about the bidding process on the official website of Pune Metro here.

The Pune Metro Rail Project comprises two lines, the North-South Line (Purple Line) and the East-West Line (Aqua Line), covering a total length of 33.2 km and serving 30 stations. The extensive project features an elevated section spanning 27.2 km and an underground section spanning 6 km. The official inauguration of the project by the Hon’ble Prime Minister took place on March 6, 2022, with the opening of 10 stations for travel.

Further milestones were achieved on August 1, 2023, when additional stations were inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, enhancing connectivity and accessibility for commuters. With this retail licensing initiative, Pune Metro aims to create a vibrant commercial ecosystem within its premises, fostering economic growth and offering businesses a strategic location for expansion.
