BARAMATI: Shankar Ramchandra Chavan, a youth from Baramati, has proved what hard work and a passion for studies can do despite hailing from a poor family. After securing a degree from IIT Guwahati, he is going to the US for doing MS. His tale is definitely bound to inspire many youths.
Ramchandra Chavan settled in Baramati a few years ago from Telangana to earn a living. He started working as a mason and he motivated his son to study hard. It was his desire that his children should study well and make their family proud. Chavan’s condition was so bad that he had to struggle a lot to make both ends meet.
However, despite odds, he told his son to study hard and he worked hard. His son secured a BE in electronics and telecommunication from IIT Guwahati. Shankar, who is a bright student, has got an opportunity to pursue higher studies in New York and he is leaving for the US today.
He is going to get a scholarship for higher studies. Shankar has proved beyond doubt that hard work can pay rich dividends.
